Long Distance — LVT FAQs
  • How can I make sure that I am subscribing to the correct long distance calling plan for my needs?

Each long distance company sets their own rates.  To compare LVT Long Distance to the others is easy.  Simply add up the total minutes shown on your current long distance bill, (rounding up to the next whole minute) and multiply by our rate.   (Our rate plans can be viewed by clicking on the residential or business plan links.)  Compare these results to what you paid your long distance provider.  Be sure to ask the long distance provider about monthly surcharges…. be sure you receive all the facts before you make your decision. This will help you determine where you can get the best deal.  For more information about making sense of long distance rates, click on http://www.fcc.gov/marketsense

  • How will those 5-cent per minute calls be handled?

Extended Community Calling (ECC) rates won’t change.   You’ll continue to pay five cents a minute for those calls to those exchanges that border you or are within a 15-mile radius.   For ECC calls, you dial only the seven digits.

  • Will LVT Long Distance handle all my calls?

Yes.  LVT Long Distance can be your toll provider for both the Southwest Lata, Inter-Lata and Interstate calls.  See the long distance pages of the current Lemonweir Valley Telephone directory for further explanation.
